I’m sooo pleased that i’ve got a place on this course.I’ve been wanting to expand my use & knowledge of yarns & other materials in this way.

All of those donations left over from knitayear will get used up creatively.I’m already gathering string & my partner is making plarn out of old vhs tapes for me.

Learn and explore knotless netting techniques from around the world and create flexible and rigid 3D structures. Experiment with scale, wire, paper, fibre, plastic, cane and more. No previous experience needed.

What is the course about? The course aims to introduce beginners to knotless netting (looping) techniques from around the world and to increase awareness of them. To develop skills of more advanced learners in knotless netting techniques and increase understanding of them. What topics will we cover? Beginners will learn the techniques of simple looping and those with more experience will learn more complex looping techniques. You will learn how to manipulate shapes, design forms and develop surfaces using these flexible techniques. You will explore the rigid and drapable properties of different materials and how they respond to different tensions. You will be introduced to historical and contemporary uses and artists.

Is there anything I need to bring?

Some basic materials, equipment and course notes are included as part of the fee.
You may want to bring some of the following: strong strings, cords, twines, flexible wires, tapes, ribbons, strips of fabric, plastic tapes and threads. A notebook and camera might be useful.Flat shape to form- knotless netting
