10am-4pm Walk the Chartres Labyrinth. Trained labyrinth facilitators Dr Jan Sellers and Dr Debbie Holley will introduce labyrinth walking using a beautiful, hand-painted canvas labyrinth laid out on the floor. 11am-5pm ‘Michael Ayrton, Maze and Minotaur.’ This compact exhibition, including a bronze of Icarus, Sun Maze, presents some of Ayrton’s most powerful and disturbing images on classical themes. Fry Gallery, off Castle Street
6pm Jeff Saward, keynote talk: ‘The Saffron Walden Mazes – An Amazing History’. Jeff Saward is widely considered the authority on the history and development of mazes and labyrinths around the world (www.labyrinthos.net).
