I’ve had such a lot on the last few weeks,mostly packing 80% of everything ready for a move only to have it fall through, then unpacking items needed & then getting a new house exchange ( even better than the 1st ) & now waiting for a new date & still living in the midst of boxes ! SO today it was a perfect winter day to get out .I took myself ,daughter & friend on buses around the new area ,onto Indian Veg for curry,checked out the new CLR James library at Dalston ( very impressed ) caught a number 4bus to waterloo for a breezy walk along the Thames.
It was lovely.
Over the millennium bridge to st.pauls , after a quick look in the Tate (&pleasant fair-trade Soya cappuccino) to the university & library at the occupy camp.2buses later & home in the warm to knit.
The lace (simple 4 row repeat )scarf has used 1ball as required by pattern but DD now wants me to increase the length by another ball, at this rate it will be finished by August !

The exhibition is up
Yesterday afternoon a friend helped me to put up the knitayear exhibition.With the assistance of the Slate volunteers it is looking fab !
The exhibition is in the windows of the council & next to the library in Leytonstone, East London .
The windows have boards which slot into place, so each board has to be placed individually.I had a rough idea & had practised laying it all out on my living room floor but i didn’t know if the boards would hold the weight of the journals so we had an experiment on the day.I’m pleased to report that the use of fishing line, knots & banging in of nails they are up & looking great !
The exhibition has the year of knitting pinned up, the journals, photos ,,extract from the blog, balls of upcycled yarn & knitting needles hanging.
In the final window are an excellent poster designed by Veronica Lindsay-Addy.which is promoting the carers group we are launching in 2 weeks !
I’m going back today to take photos so will post them later.
now to get the shopping & domestic chores out the way & then relax………………
Sunday morning knitting
I’m resting today,fighting off the cold.I’ve completed the sections chosen by visitors yesterday & have knitted with a thick cream yarn this morning.whilst knitting I noticed that the tags make a nice noise against the piece it’s added another dimension which I like.
Library part 3
I’ts the evening & I’m still knitting in the yarns that people chose at the library & adding the name tags.thanks to everyone that took part & donated yarns .I’geo also been given some felting pieced so that will make something interesting to knit with.

Knitting at Harrow green library today
I’m all set for the library today from 2 to 6.I have some tags ready for people that donate or choose a yarn for me to knit with to write their names on.the tags will then be tied onto the piece.
