All of the knitted piece is neatly pinned onto the material, ends have been trimmed so it doesn’t tangle up & its looking good ready to hang.
My printer isn’t giving the quality images  I want  despite photo ink & paper…….so I’m going to have a last try then go to a print shop.
Tonight I’m going to see an exhibition at The Hub,it is Chinese calligraphy & then a chance to have a go in a mini workshop.

Spent some considerable time arranging,re arranging & generally playing about with the knitayear today ( backache in the process ) .I have pinned most if it in place now.
Tomorrow is a new day & I shall approach the pinning with a smile & definitely work on it at a table to spare my back

A day of mixed media & fabric

image

Today I’ve braved the bitter cold wind & been to Walthamstow.I spent a lovely 2hours at a mixed media art course being run at The Mill, a community space & library.
Followed by a poke about the charity shops & the purchasing of 2metres of an unbleached cotton fabric to sew the knitayear piece onto ready to exhibit at Slate.so right now my front room is like a yarn workshop … must leave room to sit on sofa ..

Arty crafty day & the case of the missing Llama

My hands are all gluey……I’ve been busy finding yarn scraps & sticking them into the correct days in the journal.
I have to engage the grey cells & become a detective & discover the whereabouts of some missing Llama yarn over the next few days.
It’s been good to be creative again…….its been a tough few days & I have an emotional anniversary coming up on the bank holiday.I’ve had to work to fight through the low mood & be creative.
Im glad I’ve been in touch with my Arty crafty side today.
The photos show the journal drying ,pages of wet gluey yarn separated by pens.
Todays blog post is dedicated to my son Daniel , resting in peace since 1986.

Today I met with 2 groups of ramblers at a lovely new cafe in leytonstone called cafe de montmartre.the people I met were friendly & interested in the knitayear, most people chose a yarn for me to knit with & wrote their names on the red tags.one of them asked if tags could be dated for me to knit with at points up to the end of the year, i thought that a great idea so I now have those yarns & tags set aside for later.
The yarn I used today was chosen by the cafe owner & matches the decor.the cafe staff were very friendly, accomodated the group into the space & served me a wonderful drink of lemon, lime & mint.if you get the chance do visit them at 34 church lane,leytonstone,e11 1hg.

This morning I knitted with some plastic garden string I bought from the corner shop.it’s a 3ply thick string & my needle broke whilst knitting.I then decided to carry on but change to a larger pair of needles that were aquired from a charity shop ,a lilac metal pair.when the row was finished I then split the yarn into 3 parts , chose a new pair of plastic 5.5mm needles & continued knitting using that 1 thinner strand.
